The Ectocellect human cell surface receptor discovery platform

Discover extracellular protein interactions and characterize proteins for drug discovery in a scalable, cost-effective format

Our Technology

Our technology consists of a high-quality genome-scale human protein array containing functional receptor ectodomains. Every receptor design is manually-optimized, allowing us to recreate its structural architecture including type I and type II membrane proteins, and dimeric/trimeric receptor complexes.

Every protein is individually expressed, purified, and quality checked, alongside decades of characterization work to ensure we can quantify even some of the most difficult-to-detect weak interactions. We can then re-create arrays of surface proteins immobilized in arrays that mimic their natural orientation.

Applications

  • Discovering interactions of proteins, cells, or other molecules across the arrays of receptors
  • Specificity testing to find off-targets for therapeutics, including monoclonal antibodies, chimeric molecules, CARs, nanobodies, etc.
  • Validation of AI-designed binders
  • Identifying the targets of antibodies of unknown binding specificity
  • Discovering targets of idiopathic antibody-based autoimmunity
  • Identifying the binding targets of ‘orphan’ ligands
